The Humberview Effort
We are Grade 10 and 11 students from the Humberview who are trying raise awareness regarding Mr. Wilbert Coffin’s case. We are currently attempting to re-write history and have Wilbert Coffin's name cleared. Collectively, we want to do our part as Canadian citizens to bring justice to those individuals, including Wilbert Coffin, who have been wrongly convicted by the justice system. We hope that with our efforts, others will get involved and become dedicated to the cause. We also would like to help others understand the implications of the capital punishment thus helping to prevent it from returning in future years.It's true that we have only just begun examining this case but the deeper we delve into it, the more clear it becomes to us that Wilbert Coffin was indeed an innocent man. Even though Wilbert Coffin may not be with us any more, we need to still push forwards and have Wilbert Coffin's name cleared..
"It's better to let 100 guilty men go free than to convict one innocent man."
These are certainly wise words but as we can see from the Wilbert Coffin Case, not all wise words are taken to heart. We ask you now to sign the petition to help Wilbert Coffin get restitution. Justice cannot occur on its own, it needs to be supported by the people that believe in it.
